Over the past couple of months I have collected so many gorgeous dresses and decided that it was about time that I share them with you. I usually create looks that are more wearable everyday but from time to time I feel the need to create glamorous ensembles to add a bit of magic to my posts. We girls love to play dress up and would give anything to attend at least one super chic event once a year but realistically opportunities to dress or feel like princesses are very rare or nonexistent for most of us, so by creating red carpet inspired looks, I can escape from reality for a second and forget that nowadays women are used to wearing pants more often than skirts and dresses.
Today’s dresses are quite different from one another but share all one thing, elegance. I first saw this Dolce & Gabbana floral-and-owl-print violet dress on Emma Stone when she attended the “Magic In The Moonlight” premiere in NY and instantly fell in love with it. If you ask me, there’s nothing like a gorgeous ethereal dress to feel like a real princess. The image of a damsel running in the hallway of some castle, holding the bottom of her beautiful airy dress is stuck with me since I was a child. Blame it on the movies that were aired on French television during Christmas holidays! ^_^
Then the three following looks consist of plain dresses in bright colors and statement shoes.
Speaking of shoes, I am head over heels for Aquazzura and Manolo Blahnik. I use their models as often as I can in my sets because both brands really excel in the shoe-making industry. And this pair of gold chain heels from Tom Ford are from 2012 and I still think it is the best pair of gold sandals ever made. Keep using them over and over again and I can not get enough!
And to finish the post in beauty, I used a creation by Mary Katrantzou who has the best prints in the world. I paired the dress with Saint Laurent classic Jane ankle strap sandals and accessorized with a light blue clutch from Edie Parker to match the prints of the dress.
Hope you like the post guys,
Have a nice one and see you next post,
To run yesterday’s errands, I went for a very basic look which consisted of a navy blue S.Oliver sweater, raw jeans from Gap and my favorite cardigan from Comptoir des Cotonniers. It is sunny yet quite windy in Ljubljana these days and I get the feeling that it will be some time before I can trade my chunky oversized cardigan for blazers or denim jackets!
Anyways, I am lucky enough to be able to wear my Star canvas sneakers from Converse that I bought online a few months ago. I love stars on my clothes and sneakers, and the funniest thing is that I have a pajamas with the exact same stars! I have to take some pics to show you, it would be a funny photo shoot! ^^
Thanks for reading guys,
Today was such a beautiful and warm day that I traded my coats for this super light Primark parka and I couldn’t be happier about it! Spring is coming and I am gonna welcome it with open arms and a happy face.
To complete my beige jacket, I went for this super chic roll neck jumper from Zara that works with everything from my wardrobe, from super chic skirt to destroyed jeans. It is really a nice piece of clothing.
The bottom part of today’s outfit consists of the most comfortable pair of jeans ever that I got at Stradivarius last year. I am still looking for the perfect boyfriend jeans, so I guess I’ll visit their store to see what they are having lately since those at Zara and H&M doesn’t fit as I want them to.
Anyways, you may have recognized the sneakers already as I have been wearing them in previous outfits. They are from Stradivarius as well, if you’re wondering. However, they are from last year but I’m pretty sure their new collection is sick too! I gotta go check out what’s new!
And last but not least, my perfect tweed bag from Zara is such a treasure. It is the best purchase I’ve done this year.
Take care guys,
YESTERDAY was the kind of day to wear a relaxed outfit and only a touch of mascara since I was not in a mood to dress ‘too properly‘ and spend half an hour putting on make-up. Yeah, I need at least 30 minutes for that, and I guess I inherited this incompetence from my female ancestors as women in my family including me, aren’t very handy when it comes to making ourselves up. The fact I rarely wear anything else than BB cream and mascara, may also explain my awkwardness in this field. I would never be able to write a post about makeup products as many other bloggers do! Haha…
Let us pass now to the outfit and pieces it consists of. I wanted so badly to wear my denim overalls in a totally ‘I-don’t-give-a-fuck‘ way, so I paired them with my bad-ass ‘Line up the bitches‘ t-shirt and denim shirt, and finished the look with my black Converse to accentuate even more my edgy look. It’s impressive how people started at my overalls yesterday, I guess they are used to see ladies wearing leggings as pants not relaxed overalls.
Anyways, the most important in fashion is that you dress for yourself and feel comfortable in what you are wearing, nothing else really matters.
Have a nice one folks!
This is how I dressed today. As usual, I went for a very casual, comfortable outfit by wearing my new burgundy cardigan/coat which I paired with a body-kissing turtleneck top in a rose poudré shade and a pair of high-waist skinny jeans. I finished the look with my black boots, which you’ll see me wearing a lot in the days to come.
After we had a warm weather for the past 2 weeks, fall officially kicked off today. The hardest thing now, is to adjust my wardrobe to the chilly weather and start wearing layers of clothes, shawls, thicker socks etc. Not that I’m not prepared, but after living almost 5 months under 23 degrees, I got used to wearing shirts instead of jackets, so it feels like the transition is going to be a bit hard.
Hope you’ll like my pics guys!
Olivia Palermo, a world wide know fashion blogger is one of my biggest inspiration when it comes to creating casual chic looks but not only. I mean, which bride wore a 3/4 sleeves sweater with a tulle skirt to her wedding? And most of all, with cobalt blue shoes? But she nailed it like nobody else and that’s what impresses me. If I wasn’t already married, I would have for sure picked out a similar outfit for my big day! It is chic, comfy and totally effortless.
With her unique sense of style, she’s abolishing the “existing rules” in fashion and show the world that everything is wearable as long as it’s well thought out and respects the female body shape. By which I mean to say that she knows perfectly her body and only wear flattering clothes, never the other way around, which is a rarity in the fashion industry these days! How many celebrities, fashion bloggers or other have you seen wearing uncomplimentary outfits just because some big fashion house designed them? Lots of them, while Olivia Palermo’s personal style hasn’t changed over the years; she sticks to her amazing collection of high heels, the majority of which are from Aquazzura (one of the best shoe designers), always team her branded clothes with more affordable pieces from brands like Zara and H&M to name a few, and does not follow every trend out there. Go girl!
I got inspired last night and created these casual chic looks totally inspired by Olivia Palermo’s own fashion style. Hope you’ll enjoy them guys! ^^
ZARA leather jacket, t-shirt and earrings, GAP jeans, GAMLOONG leather boots, H&M rings
This was my second time visiting Bled (Slovenia). Three years ago, I visited the castle with my friends and family who came from Paris for my wedding. This time, we rented a small boat and went straight to the Bled Island in the middle of the Lake Bled and I enjoyed it more this time around.
Firstly, the atmosphere and the landscape are hundreds time prettier during fall, particularly when it’s sunny and a bit windy. You got to witness leaves falling from trees which are like bouncing from place to place, flying, making fall enchanting. In the background, the forest is painted in so many colors that it makes your speechless while staring at it. Nature is so inspiring. Secondly, I prefer the view of Bled from the ground as you can admire the castle from the lake and island as well as from every single hotel, restaurant or street in the city. Don’t get me wrong, the view from the Bled Castle is astonishingly beautiful so it would be a shame to miss it if you’re one day visiting Slovenia.
Anyways, while picking my outfit of the day, my wish was to blend with the environment and it came as natural to wear my goldenrod leather jacket which I paired with black and denim. This way, the jacket became the key piece of the look and moreover respected the surrounding nature. Once I went through the pictures, I was so happy for having picked out this jacket! Hope you’ll enjoy my pictures guys.
ps: Whilst today’s post is all about me and my look of the day, tomorrow you’ll see more pictures of the richness and beauty Bled has to offer to its visitors.
Promod coat, Stradivarius shirt and sneakers, Tally Weijl jeans, Random viscose scarf
I guess fall has arrived. I had to wear a coat today, a thin one though so there’s no reason to complain or worry as for the next 5 days the weather forecast is quite good.
For today’s look I opted for this navy coat with large silver zippers, a denim shirt and white jeans. As I have previously wrote about my obsession for navy and white stripes, there’s no surprise I accessorized with a striped scarf. Oh by the way, I am literally mad about scarfs and shawls which I sometimes wear as the key piece of the outfit. The one I wore today, added some visual interest to the plain pieces of clothing this look is made of. As I’ve spent my day shopping and strolling through the city, what a better choice than my super confy half-varnished dark blue sneakers to finish this particularly simple look of the day.
I am wearing : H&M baseball jacket and t-shirt, Stradivarius jeans
Fall is the worst season of the year for me since it puts an end to Summer, it rains all the time and trees are bare of leaves. At my great surprise, I have learned to appreciate the good things Autumn has to offer. Have to admit that this mild weather helps me a lot!
I have forced myself to think of Autumn as the beginning of something new. In my world, the new year kicks off in September, a month when I start focusing on new projects.
This year for instance, I have decided to start this blog which made my bucket list a bit shorter. But there are still many others, some of which have to wait another year or two to get started and some I have been struggling for years to achieve. Still not done to this day by the way!
However, no matter how demanding those projects and challenges are, I try to face them in style.
Yesterday’s weather was extremely mild and sunny (today’s too) and it felt like Spring actually. Nevertheless, I always carry a light jacket with me in case it gets chilly but these days short sleeves are all you need.
I got this green and white baseball jacket at H&M a few years ago and it’s still like new. It’s more like a sweatshirt which makes it very comfy and pleasant to wear.
My love for baseball jackets (or American football jackets) goes back to my childhood, when I was dreaming of being a cheer-leader ^_^. I got the first one at the age of 11-12 from my cousin. It was red with white faux leather sleeves and was brought from the USA … I was ecstatic!!
I like wearing this jacket with ripped jeans and plain t-shirts whenever I’m planning on having a busy day. The only thing missing is a baseball cap but I’m still searching for THE ONE.
