After days and days of rain and fog, the sun finally showed up this weekend.
I was surprised to see how everything has changed. Trees have turned gold and red and the leaves laying on the ground are painted in hundreds of different colors. Here are the pictures, I hope you enjoy them!

layering 1It was cloudy, windy and too chilly that day to throw only a coat over my shoulders and step out into that unfriendly weather. Wearing layers of clothes is the answer however, when putting together than many layers, things can go wrong in an instant. So the main question is – how to do it properly?
In my case, it was quite simple. The maxi dress I am wearing is thin and light which is what you want to when you are looking to pile on more clothes since the most important in layering is let the clothes breath. As the sleeves are short I wanted something thicker to keep me warm and that would at the same time fit under my coat. The cardi/coat I went for is not only super comfy but it is also matching my dress. Mixing navy blue and burgundy is one of my favorite color combo for fall so naturally I put on my navy coat and accessorized it with an oversized blue and white scarf.

Thank you for visiting my blog guys!

SNOWBOARDING TIME

SNOWBOARDING KRVAVECI was dying to show you the pictures from the day we spent snowboarding in this magical place called Krvavec, a snow park near Ljubljana.

On Thursday morning when we left the house the weather was quite moody and it even started to rain half-way there so with my husband we were suspicious of what’s been going on up in the mountains. But as soon as we reached the first level Gospinca which is at 1.477m the sun came out which instantly put a smile on our faces and motivated us to go even further and we landed on Krvavec at 1.853m and then, bang, I was lost for words. The view was spectacular. My first reaction was to take out the camera and start snapping all around me. I was a bit hysterical as I couldn’t concentrate and calmly do my thing. It happens when there’s so much beauty around me. The worst thing is that no matter how good the camera is, it is impossible to capture exactly what my eyes were seeing that day. The feeling is also indescribable. I felt so small yet incredibly free. For someone who is afraid of heights, I must admit that I felt pretty comfortable up there.

The snow park also has a cute little restaurant with a beautiful terrace where you can have a snack or tan a bit while sipping on mulled wine. It was amazing and this, despite my frustration as I couldn’t turn on my board and fell a few times on my right shoulder, which felt at the end of the day like I’ve been boxing. But as they say, no pain, no gain and we all need challenges to push us towards our best performance so I kept going and spent the 2 last hours of the day really enjoying snowboarding down the slopes turning on my board and feeling a bit proud because it was my third time ever that I stepped on a board with a 2-year pause in between my second and third time. I would like to thank the best husband on earth who has a great amount of patience and support and without whom all this would not have been possible.

Hope you’ll enjoy the pics guys!

LOFFIE JEWELRY – PART 2

LOFFIE JEWELRY PART 2 FPTLAnd here comes the second part of my collaboration with #Loffie Semi Joias, a jewelry brand from Brazil that creates amazing fine jewelry. This time I am showing you the pieces the jewelry founder and creator Marielli Oliveira Tinoco has offered me and that I am totally in love with.
I actually loved every and each of the jewels she brought to Paris, but with this pair of earrings – and a matching necklace that I haven’t used yet but certainly will when the opportunity arises – it was love at first sight. It is so my style. When I go for elegant jewelry, I like it quite statement particularly when it comes to earrings for the simple reason that I want to avoid overdoing it when dressing for a formal event, and by going only for one piece of jewelry that is quite bold and eye-catching, I know I am doing it right.
Can’t wait to wear these treasures with a gorgeous glamorous dress! Can’t wait!

When we talked with Marielli about her creations, she explained that she got inspired by the London Eye when designing the earrings I picked and when it started to snow the other day, I came up with the idea to shoot them in nature before using them in a more ‘appropriate’ elegant outfit because they also remind me of a snow flake. There is no doubt that these earrings are made for me!

I just have one funny comment to make about how I felt after seeing the pictures. Doesn’t the shoot remind you of the movie Dumb and Dumber? I am so Mary Samsonite with my short hair, oversized coat and snow boots! Ahh ^_^ …

Hope you’ll enjoy the pics guys!
Have a nice one.

#TBT HOLIDAYS 2013

TBT SNOW LJUBLJANA SLOVENIAThrowback to last year’s holidays when Ljubljana was all white and trees were covered in snow and frost as you can see on these breath-taking photos I have taken from my windows.
Today, it is Christmas and the sun is shining bright outside, the day is beautiful but I am missing the snow so much. I am happy it isn’t raining though.
Since this morning we are listening to Christmas songs, eating delicious meals and cakes my sister, mother and I have made, and now we are getting ready to go for a walk in a beautiful park in the neighborhood. Later on, we are planning on watching my favorite Christmas movie ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’ with Jim Carey and eat more cake. ^^
Hope you are all having a great and peaceful day folks.

Lots of love,

Xo, G.

SUNDAY FUNDAY

SUNDAY FUNDAY 1You can say that I am a simple living mountain person enjoying everything Nature has to offer and even though I love visiting large metropolitan cities, I would never live in one ever again. I feel so happy and free when instead of modern skyscrapers I see mountains and never-ending fields I can walk and run in during summer, and go sledging in during winter. I dream of visiting smaller countries with gorgeous natural landscapes such as Scotland, Norway, Iceland or New Zealand. With my husband we have made a deal that once we are done building our dream house, we will go on a crazy, adventurous, far far away trip to change our habits at 100%. Can’t wait!

In the meanwhile, we regularly go on a walk in our forest and fields and sometime take pictures to share with you the beauty we got to see every time we step out of the house. Today the weather was perfect. As you can see in the pics, the fields were golden and I felt like strolling in a field somewhere in Arizona. Hehe. I know shit about Arizona by the way, but from what I have seen so far in movies and documentaries, I can say it is a beautiful state with an outstanding natural landscape. It is on my ‘places to visit’ list too.

For a stroll in nature, I usually go for track pants but after spending two consecutive days in a track suit, I wanted to change a bit and went for this light blue pair of Levi’s 529 (I think) which I paired with a warm light blue top and petrol blue down coat. The grey scarf is so damn cozy and since I bought it, I cannot live without it.
To be honest guys, this post is more about showing you the beauty of this country than giving you some outfit inspiration so enjoy the pictures and don’t worry about my look of the day.

This would be all for today guys, take care!

PLAID, LEATHER, KNIT & SUNSHINE

I honestly cannot be happier these days!
After two weeks of depressive weather and poor light, the Sun finally showed up its face yesterday. I woke up with so much energy and positivity. The sunshine has so much positive influence on my mood that as soon as I opened my eyes, I jumped out of bed (which is so unusual for me), started organizing my day, my week, the holidays and the list goes on… That felt good!
After a productive morning, I had a very productive afternoon too! Don’t know if it is the weather or not, but I got a clear and definite ‘yes’ from my husband when I asked him if he’ll go with me for a session of shopping at the mall. The last time we went shopping together was like a year ago, you know how men are…
Anyways, before going to the mall we stopped at this beautiful spot not far from where we live to take a few shots. The view was impressive as usual. Is there anything prettier than a view of sunny snowy mountains ? It is so relaxing and pure and every time I see them, I cannot wait to go snowboarding.
The outfit I picked out for yesterday was super comfy and cozy, exactly what I was looking for since shopping can sometimes be very exhausting. I went for the plaid shirt as it goes perfectly with the actual mood. Tartan patterns always reminded me of Christmas so it was an obvious choice. I usually wear it buttoned up but this time I wanted to play with layers and decided to wear a white t-shirt under it. The faux-leather pants added a rock’n’roll therefore interesting vibe to the whole look so that is why I wore them instead of a pair of jeans. As for the shoes, it didn’t take me long to choose. I will never wear anything else than sneakers for a shopping session, never! Hats off to all those women and girls I saw yesterday strolling through the mall and carrying their shopping bags, their bulky coats and wearing heels! Speaking of bulky coats, I definitely didn’t want to carry around my down coat which tends to annoy me pretty quickly as I have to have my hands free to touch all the fabrics, so this time I turned on my brains while still at home and decided to wear my warm knitted oversized cardigan which once I was hot, put in the shopping bag.

Take care guys!

PIRAN, SLOVENIA

Piran 1I realize that five days have passed since my last outfit post and I am quite frustrated that all my attempts to create nice shots were in vain. The thing is that this fucking weather is depressing these days! Not only do I have to deal with the rain, I now have to struggle with the poor light too. Today exactly at noon, I got to turn on the light in my kitchen so I could see while cooking!!
So today’s post is going to be about my day trip to Piran, one of Slovenia’s major tourist attractions. It was actually a perfect day to visit this small town on the Adriatic Sea. What I love most about it, is the alignment of houses and restaurants of every kind of colors along the sea. We had lunch in a very cozy, beautifully decorated and offering a quite good quality food restaurant named ‘Tri Vdove’ (The Three Widows).
For having visited Budva in Montenegro, Split, Krk and many other little towns and islands in Croatia which also have much medieval architecture and typical narrow streets, Piran seemed so déjà-vu. But I simply love those little streets and houses, made of hundreds-year-old stones, which are so familiar and remind me how beautiful and rich the culture I come from is.
It is not surprising that the best TV show of all times, Game of Thrones, is partly filmed on the Croatian coast. For those who are huge GoT fans, King’s Landing is the part made in Croatia and some scenes with Daenerys.
I always got carried away when talking about this show. Haha. What can I do, I love it!
Anyways, I hope you will enjoy my pictures and I hopefully will be able to post some outfit pictures very soon. In the meanwhile, take car guys!

BLED : Lake + Castle + Island

BLED 1
The Bled castle overlooking the Bled lake

My day trip to bled was peaceful and invigorating at the same time. I promised to publish more landscape pictures for you to discover the beauty of this Slovenian heaven on Earth, so here are the images I took when I wasn’t posing in front of the camera. ^^
The only problem was that we have arrived there a bit too late, and since the sun goes down pretty early now the light wasn’t very good. So obviously, we didn’t manage to take a walk around the lake or even go a bit further to Bohinj, but we will make more efforts the next time and go there earlier to fully enjoy the natural environment this magical place if offering.

In addition to the pictures, I have to share with you a funny story that happened on the island. Just before boarding on our small boat to get back to the land, we asked a Chinese tourist to take a picture of us, and while we were posing, more Chinese people arrived from nowhere (like the Walkers from the Walking Dead haha) and all started taking pictures of us like we were some monkeys. One of them even followed us to show the pic he snapped. That was pretty funny.

I hope you’ll enjoy my photographs guys. Take care!
