Hello there fashionistas all around the world, as you may have already noticed, every once in a while I dedicate a post to black-and-white outfits using the best designs of the current season and today is no exception. Here are the latest five looks I have prepared for you to wear for glamorous and elegant events, and some of them are appropriate for work if you are a lawyer at Pearson Specter Litt. ^^
Take care folks,
I honestly cannot be happier these days!
After two weeks of depressive weather and poor light, the Sun finally showed up its face yesterday. I woke up with so much energy and positivity. The sunshine has so much positive influence on my mood that as soon as I opened my eyes, I jumped out of bed (which is so unusual for me), started organizing my day, my week, the holidays and the list goes on… That felt good!
After a productive morning, I had a very productive afternoon too! Don’t know if it is the weather or not, but I got a clear and definite ‘yes’ from my husband when I asked him if he’ll go with me for a session of shopping at the mall. The last time we went shopping together was like a year ago, you know how men are…
Anyways, before going to the mall we stopped at this beautiful spot not far from where we live to take a few shots. The view was impressive as usual. Is there anything prettier than a view of sunny snowy mountains ? It is so relaxing and pure and every time I see them, I cannot wait to go snowboarding.
The outfit I picked out for yesterday was super comfy and cozy, exactly what I was looking for since shopping can sometimes be very exhausting. I went for the plaid shirt as it goes perfectly with the actual mood. Tartan patterns always reminded me of Christmas so it was an obvious choice. I usually wear it buttoned up but this time I wanted to play with layers and decided to wear a white t-shirt under it. The faux-leather pants added a rock’n’roll therefore interesting vibe to the whole look so that is why I wore them instead of a pair of jeans. As for the shoes, it didn’t take me long to choose. I will never wear anything else than sneakers for a shopping session, never! Hats off to all those women and girls I saw yesterday strolling through the mall and carrying their shopping bags, their bulky coats and wearing heels! Speaking of bulky coats, I definitely didn’t want to carry around my down coat which tends to annoy me pretty quickly as I have to have my hands free to touch all the fabrics, so this time I turned on my brains while still at home and decided to wear my warm knitted oversized cardigan which once I was hot, put in the shopping bag.
Take care guys!
Love how black, grey, white and cobalt blue work together. It is actually one of my favorite combos both for casual wear as well as when it comes to dress for a more formal occasion. This popular Alexander Wang x H&M dress is the piece that caught my eye the most. Love the body-kissing shape, the color-blocking and the AW’s all over it. I paired it with a bad-ass biker leather jacket to keep it all in the kick-ass context Alexander Wang created over his sporty and military collection. As the most coveted pair of sneakers nowadays, these simple leather slip-ons were an obvious choice to complete this ultra-modern casual look. The metallic cobalt blue mini pashli shoulder bag brightens it up and instantly gives the look ‘ce petit quelque chose‘! Oversized black sunglasses are not mandatory but strongly suggested. ^^This look is also very inspiring as it mixes several styles which are extremely interesting when worn together. First, there is this eye-catching sweatshirt from H&M’s Denim Conscious collection worn over a leather white mini skirt with a zipper right in the middle. Sporty + Sexy. Second, the double-breasted coat adds some elegance to the two previous pieces. The biker ankle boots give a bit masculine and rebellious twist to the set and the back pack is the ‘childlike‘ piece. I don’t know you, but I really like the result! Dressing for work should be the easier as there is an existing code for workwear. What I mean by that is that either you wear a pant or a skirt and eventually a dress. This time I used pants and simply paired them with a classic and timeless white shirt, a chic blue sweater and a grey coat. The magnificently made flashy orange point shoes are here to brighten it all up and simply because this bright color goes so well with blue. Maleficent-inspired sexy all-black ensemble whose particularity is that it makes every woman looks fierce, from skinny Angelina Jolie to chubby Kim Kardashian, this outfit brings out the sexiness and beauty of every woman wearing it.
Today I was wearing : Zara navy blue turtleneck + DKNY Jeans navy blue flares + a brandless oversized cardigan bought in Paris last year + Georges brown and navy Mary Jane shoes,
a white H&M scarf
There is nothing like an oversized, cozy yet fashionable cardigan when you want keep it warm and fashionable. Its neutral shade makes it easy to combine with almost every color. My all navy blue outfit was inspired by the style from the 70s as I decided to wear my 3/4 sleeves turtleneck with a pair of flares which are as you can see, extremely long, too long for my short legs! Therefore, I can only wear them with high heels so I have decided to make today a high-heels-kind-of-day and went for a smooth lady-like look. I love my makeup natural for daytime especially when I am wearing neutral or lighter colors.
I AM FULLY SATISFIED with my faux-leather pants and recommend it to anyone. I have been looking for them for a while and even though I wanted tapered pants in faux-leather, the skinny ones ended up being a good purchase too.
As it gets colder, they are the best pair of trousers you can wear since they keep you warm and protects against the cold wind. Not to mention that they are the most stylish and covetable pants these days.
My black turtleneck top seemed the most appropriate top to wear as I wanted a total black look. You can see my white shirt popping out which has been done on purpose, but as it was too chilly and windy while we were shooting, I kept my coat on so there’s no pics about my look without the coat.
The black and white houndstooth scarf gives a sophisticated vibe to my casual attire, especially when worn down. My hi top black converse dress it all a bit down but I think they might not be the right pair of sneakers to wear with these pants. Indeed, I tried them with low converse and the result was way better than in these pics, but as I mentioned before, we don’t have L.A weather here anymore so I have to keep my ankles warm. ^_^
YESTERDAY was the kind of day to wear a relaxed outfit and only a touch of mascara since I was not in a mood to dress ‘too properly‘ and spend half an hour putting on make-up. Yeah, I need at least 30 minutes for that, and I guess I inherited this incompetence from my female ancestors as women in my family including me, aren’t very handy when it comes to making ourselves up. The fact I rarely wear anything else than BB cream and mascara, may also explain my awkwardness in this field. I would never be able to write a post about makeup products as many other bloggers do! Haha…
Let us pass now to the outfit and pieces it consists of. I wanted so badly to wear my denim overalls in a totally ‘I-don’t-give-a-fuck‘ way, so I paired them with my bad-ass ‘Line up the bitches‘ t-shirt and denim shirt, and finished the look with my black Converse to accentuate even more my edgy look. It’s impressive how people started at my overalls yesterday, I guess they are used to see ladies wearing leggings as pants not relaxed overalls.
Anyways, the most important in fashion is that you dress for yourself and feel comfortable in what you are wearing, nothing else really matters.
Have a nice one folks!
I have always be hooked on statement, uncommon clothing especially when it comes to t-shirts and sneakers. The idea of having something unlike anything others were wearing was exciting and is still currently relevant. Being original is all that matters.
The t-shirt with a man’s face painted on it caught my eye a few months ago, so I couldn’t leave it there. The cotton fabric is extremely soft, the length is as I like it, the colors of the print are perfect as there’s lots of blue, red, pink, orange, black, nude and white which makes it very easy to combine. However, the only ‘major detail’ that’s bothering me since day one, is the collar. A bit too large so I’m thinking of cutting it off and make an off-shoulder t-shirt for next summer…
Anyways, I must admit I didn’t put a lot of thought into this look as I had to leave the house in a hurry but when you possess nice pieces of clothing, you cannot go wrong, ever. So buy wisely guys! ^^
In addition to my personal snaps, you can find 6 very different looks wearable to a variety of occasions, so enjoy them and hope I helped you get inspired!
I must confess that when the denim-on-denim trend arrived, I wasn’t very fond of it at the beginning, but as the saying goes “only fools never change their minds“. So here I am, posting pictures and writing about all-denim looks.
My views have changed after seeing several celebrities pulling off the denim-on-denim trend especially Olivia Palermo and Miranda Kerr. So I gradually became interested in trying it myself and even though it took me several years, I now have the necessary clothing to rock a head-to-toe denim look in my own way.
Although I have embraced this 90’s inspired style, there’s no chance you’ll ever see me wearing a head-to-toe denim look with a blue denim jacket! No way! I consider it to be a very uninteresting style and even back in the 90’s, when I was just a kid and everybody was all about the denim-on-denim trend, I remember how I hated their outfits with their oversized denim jackets.
But this doesn’t mean I don’t wear denim jackets, far from it! I actually adore denim jackets and always had. I have two; the light blue one which I love wearing with everything but my blue jeans (of course) and the dark blue one which is actually sleeveless now, and that I love teaming with oversized sweaters and hoodies.
As for my own way of styling denim with denim, I only go for denim shirts for the top and for the bottom I have a choice between jeans, skirts or cut-offs which I style most of the time with sneakers for a daytime casual-comfy look. Like it’s the case for this photo shoot. But more classic and edgy looks involving lots of denim are still to come! ^^
This is the kind of clothes I feel most comfortable in (and tracksuits of course!). I mean, how not to love loose-fitting clothes? Especially when they are trendy and well-tailored like those I’m wearing.
As you can see, it is a totally masculine look to which I added a touch of femininity by wearing a see-through white t-shirt which reveals my black bra. Not too revealing though! ^^
Those tapered pants are great! They are actually pretty chic but styled with these boots, they turned out being very casual. As for the denim shirt, it makes every outfit looks better, it’s a fact!
