SUNNY AUTUMN

SUNNY AUTUMN 1

I am wearing : H&M baseball jacket and t-shirt, Stradivarius jeans

Fall is the worst season of the year for me since it puts an end to Summer, it rains all the time and trees are bare of leaves. At my great surprise, I have learned to appreciate the good things Autumn has to offer. Have to admit that this mild weather helps me a lot!
I have forced myself to think of Autumn as the beginning of something new. In my world, the new year kicks off in September, a month when I start focusing on new projects.
This year for instance, I have decided to start this blog which made my bucket list a bit shorter. But there are still many others, some of which have to wait another year or two to get started and some I have been struggling for years to achieve. Still not done to this day by the way!
However, no matter how demanding those projects and challenges are, I try to face them in style.
Yesterday’s weather was extremely mild and sunny (today’s too) and it felt like Spring actually. Nevertheless, I always carry a light jacket with me in case it gets chilly but these days short sleeves are all you need.

I got this green and white baseball jacket at H&M a few years ago and it’s still like new. It’s more like a sweatshirt which makes it very comfy and pleasant to wear.
My love for baseball jackets (or American football jackets) goes back to my childhood, when I was dreaming of being a cheer-leader ^_^. I got the first one at the age of 11-12 from my cousin. It was red with white faux leather sleeves and was brought from the USA … I was ecstatic!!
I like wearing this jacket with ripped jeans and plain t-shirts whenever I’m planning on having a busy day. The only thing missing is a baseball cap but I’m still searching for THE ONE.

DENIM ON DENIM

DENIM OVER DENIM I am wearing Stradivarius denim shirt and sneakers, Gap jeans

I must confess that when the denim-on-denim trend arrived, I wasn’t very fond of it at the beginning, but as the saying goes “only fools never change their minds“. So here I am, posting pictures and writing about all-denim looks.

My views have changed after seeing several celebrities pulling off the denim-on-denim trend especially Olivia Palermo and Miranda Kerr. So I gradually became interested in trying it myself and even though it took me several years, I now have the necessary clothing to rock a head-to-toe denim look in my own way.

Although I have embraced this 90’s inspired style, there’s no chance you’ll ever see me wearing a head-to-toe denim look with a blue denim jacket! No way! I consider it to be a very uninteresting style and even back in the 90’s, when I was just a kid and everybody was all about the denim-on-denim trend, I remember how I hated their outfits with their oversized denim jackets.
But this doesn’t mean I don’t wear denim jackets, far from it! I actually adore denim jackets and always had. I have two; the light blue one which I love wearing with everything but my blue jeans (of course) and the dark blue one which is actually sleeveless now, and that I love teaming with oversized sweaters and hoodies.

As for my own way of styling denim with denim, I only go for denim shirts for the top and for the bottom I have a choice between jeans, skirts or cut-offs which I style most of the time with sneakers for a daytime casual-comfy look. Like it’s the case for this photo shoot. But more classic and edgy looks involving lots of denim are still to come! ^^

FASHIONABLE AND AFFORDABLE

We are living in a world where looks are extremely important and if you ask me, it should be that way. I am not talking about physical beauty but style and the way people take care of their appearance.
Many think that in order to be well dressed and trendy, one must possess branded and expensive clothes which is a total misconception and I would like to change that thinking.

Today’s article is all about fashionable and affordable clothing. My favorite brands are ZARA, H&M, Primark, Mango, Dorothy Perkins, Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, Topshop and River Island.
I love ZARA for their amazing, trendy pieces, H&M is great for basics and underwear while Dorothy Perkins a full range of dresses for all occasions. As for good quality, Stradivarius is actually my fave. Needless to say that my closet is full of these clothes and I’m pretty sure, that yours are as well.

I know that we all like the idea of having a Chanel Boy bag or the 2.55, a pair of J Brand jeans or Louboutins just to flaunt but in reality we don’t need these luxury brands to be fashionable and trendy.
I personally don’t have thousands of euros to put in a bag or shoes, I would if I could of course, but my point is that us, the middle class can be so well dressed and sophisticated that even the ‘riches bitches’ would envy us. Remember, the way you style your clothes makes you look good not brands.

Here are some outfits I created last night to prove my theory is true! ^^Take a look and hope you’ll enjoy.
