LOTD | WHITE-BLACK MOMENTS

LOTD BY GAGI 1I am sharing with you the latest ensembles I have created in the past couple of days and that are celebrating the monochrome color combination you can see often in my outfit posts. As usual, there is a lot of stripes, both vertical and horizontal, graphics, prints, sheer and a touch of blue here and there, to brighten it all up. Hope you like today’s looks in which I used some of the latest trendy pieces including culottes, shirt dresses and bucket bags.

Take care guys,

Xo, G.

LOTD | DRESSY DRESSES

LOTD DRESSY DRESSES 1Over the past couple of months I have collected so many gorgeous dresses and decided that it was about time that I share them with you. I usually create looks that are more wearable everyday but from time to time I feel the need to create glamorous ensembles to add a bit of magic to my posts. We girls love to play dress up and would give anything to attend at least one super chic event once a year but realistically opportunities to dress or feel like princesses are very rare or nonexistent for most of us, so by creating red carpet inspired looks, I can escape from reality for a second and forget that nowadays women are used to wearing pants more often than skirts and dresses.
Today’s dresses are quite different from one another but share all one thing, elegance. I first saw this Dolce & Gabbana floral-and-owl-print violet dress on Emma Stone when she attended the “Magic In The Moonlight” premiere in NY and instantly fell in love with it. If you ask me, there’s nothing like a gorgeous ethereal dress to feel like a real princess. The image of a damsel running in the hallway of some castle, holding the bottom of her beautiful airy dress is stuck with me since I was a child. Blame it on the movies that were aired on French television during Christmas holidays! ^_^
Then the three following looks consist of plain dresses in bright colors and statement shoes.
Speaking of shoes, I am head over heels for Aquazzura and Manolo Blahnik. I use their models as often as I can in my sets because both brands really excel in the shoe-making industry. And this pair of gold chain heels from Tom Ford are from 2012 and I still think it is the best pair of gold sandals ever made. Keep using them over and over again and I can not get enough!
And to finish the post in beauty, I used a creation by Mary Katrantzou who has the best prints in the world. I paired the dress with Saint Laurent classic Jane ankle strap sandals and accessorized with a light blue clutch from Edie Parker to match the prints of the dress.

Hope you like the post guys,

Have a nice one and see you next post,

Xo, G.

LOOKS OF THE DAY / HELLO SPRING

looks of the day hello spring 1To welcome Spring 2015, I have prepared five playful outfits featuring stripes, color-blocking, geometric prints, pastels and brights.
Now the fun begins!
The Kenzo dress (that was seen on fashion blogger Kristina Bazan) is the key piece of the outfit so I paired it with black and white items to keep it in focus. The leather details add an edgy vibe to the dress.
The second look is made of navy and white stripes that I love pairing with leopard print. By the way, aren’t these slip-on sneakers from Vans just amazing?
The bright color of the coat brings the outfit to another level while the metallic gold Givenchy bag adds a bit of bling. Love it!
For the third look, I wanted a less showy look by using black, grey and mint. It is a very modern and trendy ensemble mixing sporty and chic items.
The forth look of the day is the chicest of the five and is featuring a beautiful color-block dress from one of my favorite designers, Roksanda Ilincic. I teamed it with a three-quarter sleeves white coat from Cédric Charlier which reveals the yellow detail of the dress and therefore match the color-block bag from Etro. To finish the look, there’s nothing better than a pair of timeless navy blue pumps from Manolo Blahnik.
Since it is the weekend and that generally we all want to feel comfy in our clothes, the fifth outfit would be the best choice. Wear a black and white oversized cardigan over a white and pastel outfit to make a statement.

Enjoy your weekend guys!

TULI

TULI WOMENTULI : LOOK GOOD. DO GOOD.

Fighting poverty never looked so good with this line of handmade jewelry that provides long-term jobs to impoverished women in Uganda.
Tuli’s products feature beads that are rolled from tiny strips of salvaged paper, hand painted, and then handcrafted into a one-of-a-kind accessory. Every purchase gives money directly to the Ugandan woman who made your product.
By bringing an international market to a group of impoverished women living in a country with few job opportunities, Tuli fights poverty using business and fashion. Rather than giving temporary aid to Uganda, Tuli works to create lasting, steady jobs for its partners.
Using the income they earned from Tuli, Ugandan women are able to feed their children, send them to school, obtain housing, and save for their future. Having a job empowers them to take charge of their lives and aim beyond their immediate needs.

GET THE LOOK : OLIVIA PALERMO

OP COLLAGEOlivia Palermo, a world wide know fashion blogger is one of my biggest inspiration when it comes to creating casual chic looks but not only. I mean, which bride wore a 3/4 sleeves sweater with a tulle skirt to her wedding? And most of all, with cobalt blue shoes? But she nailed it like nobody else and that’s what impresses me. If I wasn’t already married, I would have for sure picked out a similar outfit for my big day! It is chic, comfy and totally effortless.

With her unique sense of style, she’s abolishing the “existing rules” in fashion and show the world that everything is wearable as long as it’s well thought out and respects the female body shape. By which I mean to say that she knows perfectly her body and only wear flattering clothes, never the other way around, which is a rarity in the fashion industry these days! How many celebrities, fashion bloggers or other have you seen wearing uncomplimentary outfits just because some big fashion house designed them? Lots of them, while Olivia Palermo’s personal style hasn’t changed over the years; she sticks to her amazing collection of high heels, the majority of which are from Aquazzura (one of the best shoe designers), always team her branded clothes with more affordable pieces from brands like Zara and H&M to name a few, and does not follow every trend out there. Go girl!

I got inspired last night and created these casual chic looks totally inspired by Olivia Palermo’s own fashion style. Hope you’ll enjoy them guys! ^^
