STATEMENT TOP

I have always be hooked on statement, uncommon clothing especially when it comes to t-shirts and sneakers. The idea of having something unlike anything others were wearing was exciting and is still currently relevant. Being original is all that matters.

The t-shirt with a man’s face painted on it caught my eye a few months ago, so I couldn’t leave it there. The cotton fabric is extremely soft, the length is as I like it, the colors of the print are perfect as there’s lots of blue, red, pink, orange, black, nude and white which makes it very easy to combine. However, the only ‘major detail’ that’s bothering me since day one, is the collar. A bit too large so I’m thinking of cutting it off and make an off-shoulder t-shirt for next summer…

Anyways, I must admit I didn’t put a lot of thought into this look as I had to leave the house in a hurry but when you possess nice pieces of clothing, you cannot go wrong, ever. So buy wisely guys! ^^

In addition to my personal snaps, you can find 6 very different looks wearable to a variety of occasions, so enjoy them and hope I helped you get inspired!

DENIM ON DENIM

DENIM OVER DENIM I am wearing Stradivarius denim shirt and sneakers, Gap jeans

I must confess that when the denim-on-denim trend arrived, I wasn’t very fond of it at the beginning, but as the saying goes “only fools never change their minds“. So here I am, posting pictures and writing about all-denim looks.

My views have changed after seeing several celebrities pulling off the denim-on-denim trend especially Olivia Palermo and Miranda Kerr. So I gradually became interested in trying it myself and even though it took me several years, I now have the necessary clothing to rock a head-to-toe denim look in my own way.

Although I have embraced this 90’s inspired style, there’s no chance you’ll ever see me wearing a head-to-toe denim look with a blue denim jacket! No way! I consider it to be a very uninteresting style and even back in the 90’s, when I was just a kid and everybody was all about the denim-on-denim trend, I remember how I hated their outfits with their oversized denim jackets.
But this doesn’t mean I don’t wear denim jackets, far from it! I actually adore denim jackets and always had. I have two; the light blue one which I love wearing with everything but my blue jeans (of course) and the dark blue one which is actually sleeveless now, and that I love teaming with oversized sweaters and hoodies.

As for my own way of styling denim with denim, I only go for denim shirts for the top and for the bottom I have a choice between jeans, skirts or cut-offs which I style most of the time with sneakers for a daytime casual-comfy look. Like it’s the case for this photo shoot. But more classic and edgy looks involving lots of denim are still to come! ^^

This is the kind of clothes I feel most comfortable in (and tracksuits of course!). I mean, how not to love loose-fitting clothes? Especially when they are trendy and well-tailored like those I’m wearing.
As you can see, it is a totally masculine look to which I added a touch of femininity by wearing a see-through white t-shirt which reveals my black bra. Not too revealing though! ^^
Those tapered pants are great! They are actually pretty chic but styled with these boots, they turned out being very casual. As for the denim shirt, it makes every outfit looks better, it’s a fact!
