LOOKS OF THE DAY / 15.11.2014

LOTD 1Love how black, grey, white and cobalt blue work together. It is actually one of my favorite combos both for casual wear as well as when it comes to dress for a more formal occasion. This popular Alexander Wang x H&M dress is the piece that caught my eye the most.  Love the body-kissing shape, the color-blocking and the AW’s all over it. I paired it with a bad-ass biker leather jacket to keep it all in the kick-ass context Alexander Wang created over his sporty and military collection. As the most coveted pair of sneakers nowadays, these simple leather slip-ons were an obvious choice to complete this ultra-modern casual look. The metallic cobalt blue mini pashli shoulder bag brightens it up and instantly gives the look ‘ce petit quelque chose‘! Oversized black sunglasses are not mandatory but strongly suggested. ^^LOTD 2This look is also very inspiring as it mixes several styles which are extremely interesting when worn together. First, there is this eye-catching sweatshirt from H&M’s Denim Conscious collection worn over a leather white mini skirt with a zipper right in the middle. Sporty + Sexy. Second, the double-breasted coat adds some elegance to the two previous pieces. The biker ankle boots give a bit masculine and rebellious twist to the set and the back pack is the ‘childlike‘ piece. I don’t know you, but I really like the result! LOTD 3Dressing for work should be the easier as there is an existing code for workwear. What I mean by that is that either you wear a pant or a skirt and eventually a dress. This time I used pants and simply paired them with a classic and timeless white shirt, a chic blue sweater and a grey coat. The magnificently made flashy orange point shoes are here to brighten it all up and simply because this bright color goes so well with blue. LOTD 4Maleficent-inspired sexy all-black ensemble whose particularity is that it makes every woman looks fierce, from skinny Angelina Jolie to chubby Kim Kardashian, this outfit brings out the sexiness and beauty of every woman wearing it.

Enjoy folks!

THE GIRL FROM THE WOODS

TGFTW 1

When I opened my eyes this morning, the rays of sunshine were penetrating through the curtains into my bedroom and in my world, there’s no better way to start the day. Just after I have taken my breakfast, I stepped on the balcony and immediately felt the warmth of the sun on my skin. It feels strange to be able to walk around barefoot and wearing nothing but a t-shirt at this time of the year. At 10 a.m it was 21°C …

So I have decided to make the most of this beautiful day and went for a morning stroll in the nature, for which I opted for a very simple and comfortable outfit consisting of a v-neck grey and white Gap t-shirt, a dark blue denim sleeveless Levi’s jacket (the 15-year-old one I got from my sister – almost a vintage piece ^^ – and decided to cut the sleeves off) paired with light pink Zara skinny jeans. To finish the look, I took out my favorite and most comfy silver leather gladiator sandals bought in Greece.

I always loved how pink and grey harmonize, especially the lighter shades of these two colors. Talking of which, I am currently looking for a beautiful fluffy candy pink sweater but all those that caught my eye were 100% made of acrylic or polyester and I am so against synthetic fabrics. The one I saw at Stradivarius is beautiful and pretty soft, but the smell is so unbearable! I guess I’ll have to try to wash the bad smell off and wear it over a shirt to get used to it. But if some of you know where I can find a fluffy sweater made at least of 40% cotton, I would be very appreciative if you could help me.

Have a nice one guys!

CASUAL UNIFORM

OOTD 1

Promod coat, Stradivarius shirt and sneakers, Tally Weijl jeans, Random viscose scarf

I guess fall has arrived. I had to wear a coat today, a thin one though so there’s no reason to complain or worry as for the next 5 days the weather forecast is quite good.
For today’s look I opted for this navy coat with large silver zippers, a denim shirt and white jeans. As I have previously wrote about my obsession for navy and white stripes, there’s no surprise I accessorized with a striped scarf. Oh by the way, I am literally mad about scarfs and shawls which I sometimes wear as the key piece of the outfit. The one I wore today, added some visual interest to the plain pieces of clothing this look is made of. As I’ve spent my day shopping and strolling through the city, what a better choice than my super confy half-varnished dark blue sneakers to finish this particularly simple look of the day.

SUNNY AUTUMN

SUNNY AUTUMN 1

I am wearing : H&M baseball jacket and t-shirt, Stradivarius jeans

Fall is the worst season of the year for me since it puts an end to Summer, it rains all the time and trees are bare of leaves. At my great surprise, I have learned to appreciate the good things Autumn has to offer. Have to admit that this mild weather helps me a lot!
I have forced myself to think of Autumn as the beginning of something new. In my world, the new year kicks off in September, a month when I start focusing on new projects.
This year for instance, I have decided to start this blog which made my bucket list a bit shorter. But there are still many others, some of which have to wait another year or two to get started and some I have been struggling for years to achieve. Still not done to this day by the way!
However, no matter how demanding those projects and challenges are, I try to face them in style.
Yesterday’s weather was extremely mild and sunny (today’s too) and it felt like Spring actually. Nevertheless, I always carry a light jacket with me in case it gets chilly but these days short sleeves are all you need.

I got this green and white baseball jacket at H&M a few years ago and it’s still like new. It’s more like a sweatshirt which makes it very comfy and pleasant to wear.
My love for baseball jackets (or American football jackets) goes back to my childhood, when I was dreaming of being a cheer-leader ^_^. I got the first one at the age of 11-12 from my cousin. It was red with white faux leather sleeves and was brought from the USA … I was ecstatic!!
I like wearing this jacket with ripped jeans and plain t-shirts whenever I’m planning on having a busy day. The only thing missing is a baseball cap but I’m still searching for THE ONE.
