I have become obsessed with cosmetics and treatments for my skin especially since I turned 30. The issues I am dealing with today are exactly the same as when I was in my twenties, large pores and blemishes added to this a dull complexion. The only difference is that I went from oily to dry skin and of course the first wrikles have appeared too.

In today’s post, I will rate and review every and each product I have been applying on my skin over the past several weeks even months for some of them.

Pure Clay illuminating cleansing gel by L’Oréal – 7,5/10
→ I use it once a day and it leaves my skin clean and smooth. I haven’t noticed that my skin glows after using it though.
Price : around 4€

Pure Clay Glow Mask by L’Oréal – 10/10
→ So far the best clay mask I tried. This one on the other hand gives glow to my skin and leaves it very smooth. On top of that, it tightens my pores. I use it twice a week.
Price : around 8€

Facial Cleansing Brush by Ebelin – 8/10
→ This is magical! It cleans my pores unlike any other facial cleansing product I used so far. The tiny smooth hair penetrates everywhere and exfoliates perfectly.

Price : 4€ at DM

Peel-Off Black Mask Co-Enzymes by Revuele – 5/10
→ This mask doesn’t work on my blackheads so I won’t be buying it again. I think it would work on blackheads that are ‘superficial’ though.
Price : 4€

Anti-Aging Regeneration Mask and Hydro Mask by Terra Naturi – 7,5/10
→ I love how smooth and clean my skin looks after applying these. The big plus, is that they are vegan.
Price : 0,99€

Refining toner by Weleda – 9/10
→ Just the best toner ever. It matifies my skin and gives it glow. The only minus is the packaging.
Price : around 11€
→ I use it before applying Wild Rose Smoothing Day Cream by Weleda – 8/10 – that is very light, fresh and penetrates immediatly. Howevever, after using it for a month, I can tell that this cream is not moisturizing enough for my skin.
Price : around 16€

Peeling gel by TerraNaturi – 8,5/10
→ I was totally convinced that harsh facial scrubs do a better job at exfoliating my skin than gentle peeling gels, which is completely not the case. I use this gentle peeling gel once or twice a week and my skin loves it. The blackheads and pores appear visibly reduced.
Price : around 3€

Night cream ‘lifting‘ by TerraNaturi – 9,5/10
→ Best night cream for sure! As soon as I apply it, my wrinkles disappear! The skin is smooth, matified and hydrated. Best purchase of the month
Price : around 5€

Cosmetic Lad moisturizer by Lush – 6,5/10
→ I bought it initially for my husband and used it a couple of times to see how my skin reacts to it.
Well, this cream simply moisturizes, that’s it. It’s not matifying, not giving glow, not leaving the skin brighter, nothing.
Price : 18,95€ (overpriced obviously!)

Hypoallergenic anti-redness primer by Bell – 7,5/10
→ good at neutralizing redness and even concealing imperfections such as nose pores.
Price : around 6€

Hypoallergenic Eye & Skin Stick Concealer by Bell – 7,5/10
→ it conceals very well, however it tends to kind of ‘dry’ the skin around the eyes.
Price : around 5€

BB Cream Classic and BB Cream Combination To Oily Skin by Garnier– 9/10
→ still my favorite BB creams. During winter I first apply the BB cream that covers more (on the right), and use a bit of the classic as it gives more glow to the skin. √
Price : around 8€ each

Silisponge (Silicone sponge for makeup) – 8/10
→ This silisponge is great for many reasons. First, it doesn’t absorb your foundation as a beauty blender would which means that you don’t need to use as much product. This is great news especially when you buy expensive foundation! ^^
Second, it’s super easy and quick to clean, and above all more hygienic.
→ However, it is a bit harder to use than the beauty blender because it doesn’t have pointy edges, and in the area around the nose and eyes I have to use my fingers to blend the foundation.
Price : 6€

Lait d’Ânesse, Eau démaquillante lactée by Léa Nature – 7/10
→ It cleans well and smells good.
Price : around 11€

Skin Food by NutrisSlim – ?
→ I started drinking this mix of natural and vegan ingredients a few days ago so the results are not visible yet. The only thing I can say about it, is that it’s the most disgusting thing ever. Hehehe but if it really does what it says it does, I will keep drinking it anyways! ^^

Today’s topic : F O U N D A T I O N (…and more)

In an older post Makeup routine, I wrote only good things about LaRoche-Posay’s Tolériane correcteur de teint fluide, a product I’ve been using for over 4 years.
This time, I wanted to give a shot to their ‘lightest’ version, Tolériane fond de teint crème d’eau hydratante. Like the previous product, this one is also for sensitive skin but the main difference, also why I switched from their teint fluide, lies in coverage.
The first one provides non-cakey high-coverage which is perfect during winter, but now that warmer days are coming, I needed something with moderate coverage for a more natural look, and this water-cream is as good as I was hoping it would be.

(Fragrance-free, Preservative-free, Enriched with hyaluronic acid, Non comedogenic, 21 euros in Slovenia, around 16 euros in France)

My experience with pressed powders from British brand Rimmel London is quite positive. For a while, I banned all kind of powders from my makeup routine, because of my dry skin and now I am ready again to start using them as my skin tends to shine these days.
My other powder from the brand is the ‘natural bronzer’ so I said why not try their ‘stay matte’ version, and guess what, it does the trick!

(Stay matte long lasting pressed powder costs around 4 euros in Slovenia)

After I’ve tried L’Oréal Revitalift Filler Renew cream, and after I’ve been completely blown away with the results, the obvious next step was to try something from their night version.
This Nutri-Gold Night cream smells really good and is very moisturizing, but unlike the Revitalift filler Renew, it is more greasy and doesn’t absorb that quickly.

OK,  I would have never thought that I would be ever writing about hair products or anything related to hair, for that matter. The reason is simple – I do not know anything about hair care! I have started to pay attention to it though. The first step was about 3-4 months after I gave birth and the second step after I dyed my hair for the first time ever (like 2 months ago). The great thing is that I am a quick learner especially when it’s about things that interest me.

To be honest, I’ve always hated my hair. Well, not always, but I started to get annoyed by how they looked at the age of 19 maybe. I didn’t pay that much attention to it in my teenage years very probably because I had to much work trying to figure out how to make my skin look cleaner and prettier, but even though I knew my hair wasn’t healthy and shiny, I didn’t do much about it, except chopping them off very short. The dying was the ultimate step towards change, and suddenly it clicked : I need to do something, anything.

After giving birth to my baby girl, my hair went from shiny and smooth to dull and dry. The hair loss was sudden and lasted for approximately two weeks. I’ve started the treatment right away by using anti-hair loss shampoos and pills.
One of the shampoos that has the best review on the internet is Dercos by Vichy and it’s definitely doing what it claims to do. My hair is thicker and less dull than before. At first, I used the shitty Anaphase by Ducray shampoo. It tangled my hair so much I couldn’t comb it out, and on top of that it gave my hair this unhealthy, even drier look. So do not buy this shampoo, it’s total crap.
In addition to the shampoo, I took pills by Fitoval for 3 months in a row. The result was already noticeable after 2 months. I have ‘baby hair’ all over my head especially around my forehead. Even on spots where I naturally didn’t have much hair, new hair has grown, so I couldn’t be happier. It is true that all this baby hair looks like I have chopped off some of my hair myself, but I don’t care as long as there’s hair growing on my head ^^.

When it comes to adding some volume to your hair, here are my two favorite products. I have a little preference for Taft thickening spray given that it’s simpler to use and smells better.
The volume lift mousse by Syoss does the trick too, but I’m not a big fan of mousses in general, so I’d probably stick to sprays from now on.

Before blow drying, curling or straightening my hair, I use Argan Oil heat defence leave in spray. My hair is thankful for the pleasant smell and incredible smoothness.

From time to time, when I need my hair to stay still, the Taft perfect flex hairspray by Schwarzkopf is my go-to product.

And last but not least, my good old boar-bristle brush by Franck Provost that does miracles to every type of hair. Brushing is a real pleasure with this one.

Take care guys,

Xo, G.

With this cold and windy weather outside, we need to protect our skin and lips the best way possible, so I decided to share some of my all time favorite products that I have been using every winter over the past few years. On a side note, this is not an ad.

Every morning, after washing my face with Cold Cream gel by Avène, I soak cotton pads with my Depiderm White lightening thermal toner by Uriage (check out the two previous beauty posts under category BEAUTY for more details) and then apply the Aqua sensation cream by Nivea. I recommend it for two main reasons, it hydrates perfectly and leaves my skin very smooth. However, I haven’t used it with makeup so I don’t know if it works well with foundation.

My lips, oh my god! They are dry all year long, but in winter it gets worse! I try not to use the sugar-based lif exfoliator by e.l.f every day, to avoid irritation but to be honest, without it I would look like I’ve been lost in the desert for a month! It is THE product I cannot live without.
After removing the excess of sugar, I apply the original Labello or the moisturizing BABY LIPS balm by Maybelline (the blue one with pink letters). I like the latter better for the super shiny effect it leaves on the lips, however I cannot find it in Ljubljana anymore, do you know maybe which stores still sell them?

I swear only by Neutrogena creams which are definitely the best on the market. They are also fragrance-free which is exactly what I love when it comes to moisturizing creams.

My facial night routine consists of washing my skin, spraying all over my face L’eau Florale à la rose ancienne by Sanoflore (check out MY CURRENT FAVORITES post in category BEAUTY for details) , then I use this cellular anti-age cream by Nivea to complete my beauty routine. I cannot say if it works or not, but the thing I can say is that it’s not the best night cream I have tried.

Thanks for reading my blog guys,

Xo, G.

If you have read my previous beauty posts, you already know that I have been dealing with all kind of skin problems since I was 14. So I am basically always on a hunt for the best beauty products and tools that will keep my skin healthy and clean.
Through the years, I have always been told by professionals not to use exfoliating gels which apparently do more damage than good to problematic skins. Still, I had to try myself to be convinced and eventually I have come to realize that they were not lying. ^^ But when I came across this little packet at the store, I said to myself, why not!

For the last 3-4 weeks I have been using it together with the cleansing gel from Avène (which is one of my favorite by the way) three times a week and the result is impressive! Love that it is a very gentle exfoliating tool, that leaves my skin smooth and fresh.

After the exfoliation comes moisturizing, and my go-to day cream is the Q10 plus anti wrinkle cream by Nivea with SPF 15.

Thanks for visiting my blog guys,
have a nice Friday and weekend!

Exfoliating pad – Leclerc Rudnik, ≈ 4 euros
Cold Cream Gel – Leposana Leclerc Rudnik, ≈ 12 euros

A few days ago, on my Instagram account I posted a snap of my current favorite beauty products and I thought why not to write a blog post and elaborate a bit why are some of these on my must-have list. Well, first of all it is no ad at all, but just my honest opinion as a consumer.

Now that I am a mom, there are days I can barely find time to brush my teeth, and there are days when I can even do my nails! And as I have already seen what motherhood did to women around me ^_^, I prepared myself in advance and bought some of these products even before my daughter was born.

dsc_0541As you can see, there’s almost no makeup in my so-called beauty routine, simply because putting makeup on takes time. ^^

First things first, I use masks once a week (almost every week) and those from Mueller (an Austrian or German drugstore?!) are quite good. My skin is instantly more bright.

The lightening thermal toner by Uriage is the best I have tried so far. It really does all three, illuminates, smoothes and moisturizes my skin. It has replaced my day cream on daily basis.

This Eau Florale à la rose ancienne bio by Sanoflore is awesome. Its properties are similar to the thermal toner so I usually use it at night, also because it is rose-scented and I don’t want to expose my baby girl to perfumes.
I am looking forward to trying different products from this brand!

Having a bright and clean skin is great, but when you are pale you look tired so you need a product that is gonna replace your foundation or BB cream, and this magical product is a tanning spray! My Bioderma moisturising tanning spray does miracles on my skin and helps me get a natural-looking fake tan.

To finish off the look, I use my ultra blush palette by Revolution. This palette does the trick but L’Oreal blushes and highlighters work better for me.

The mascara Sensational by Maybelline is the best for my lashes. I have been using it for the past 2 years and it is great.

And last but not least, my nude gloss by L’Oreal that shines bright like a diamond!

Thanks for reading me guys! See you next post!

skin goodies 1During my last trip to Paris, I went on a shopping spree to the drugstore and bought some of my favorite hygiene products. Since I have tried out Uriage cleansers I cannot live without them. This time I went for this ultra large one that is easier to use thanks to its practical pump. It is soap free and extremely gentle so it is also appropriate for little kids.
The make-up remover micellar water is very refreshing and gentle too, but for now I’m using the Vichy one which I bought first. The most surprising about the Vichy cleansing micellar solution is how well it removes my eye makeup! Until now I was always nervous before removing my mascara so this little magical product has changed my beauty routine in a very positive way. There are zero irritations and no more burning or itchy eyes. It does the job quickly and efficiently.
And after I clean and re-clean my skin with the Vichy solution micellaire and the Uriage surgras liquide, I use a light moisturizing cream Eau Thermale Jonzac from LEA Nature Laboratoire that is really the best moisturizing cream I have ever had. Really! And after I used it for 2-3 days, I went back to the drugstore and bought the one for the eyes and I must admit that I’m a very satisfied customer. Furthermore, the scent of their products is heavenly.
And last but not least, the Avene Cleanance Expert cream is surprisingly very gentle and light with a really pleasant scent too. I haven’t seen big changes for now but nevertheless it’s not pungent as those types of cream usually are and works perfectly as my make-up base.

That would be all for now amigos.
Have a nice Saturday night,

Xo, G.
