MILITARY SHIRT

FPTL MILITARY SHIRT 1Today I was in a mood to wear my old yet timeless military shirt that is still my favorite of all shirts I collected through the years. I think I got it 2-3 years ago and it actually looks better than the day I bought it. The reason is the random lines that appeared after it has been washed dozens of times. The pair of light jeans I’m wearing it with are old too. Every time I wear khaki I tend to pick out lighter jeans (blue or white) simply because I love this combo for spring and summer. I mean, khaki works with everything so it really isn’t a difficult color to wear. By the way, I got both the items at Zara as well as the pearl earrings and black leather jacket. Nothing surprising there since 90% of my wardrobe is from the Inditex group ^^ If it wasn’t for them, God knows how would I be walking around! I finished my look of the day with the excellent and super comfortable Gamloong boots that hopefully will last many many years. I love shoes but have a hard time finding the right ones so that’s the reason why I take a good care of those that I already have. And as Vivienne Westwood has said “Buy less, choose well, make it last“.

Thanks for visiting my blog and hope you’ll come back,

Xo, G.

LOOKS OF THE DAY / HELLO SPRING

looks of the day hello spring 1To welcome Spring 2015, I have prepared five playful outfits featuring stripes, color-blocking, geometric prints, pastels and brights.
Now the fun begins!
The Kenzo dress (that was seen on fashion blogger Kristina Bazan) is the key piece of the outfit so I paired it with black and white items to keep it in focus. The leather details add an edgy vibe to the dress.
The second look is made of navy and white stripes that I love pairing with leopard print. By the way, aren’t these slip-on sneakers from Vans just amazing?
The bright color of the coat brings the outfit to another level while the metallic gold Givenchy bag adds a bit of bling. Love it!
For the third look, I wanted a less showy look by using black, grey and mint. It is a very modern and trendy ensemble mixing sporty and chic items.
The forth look of the day is the chicest of the five and is featuring a beautiful color-block dress from one of my favorite designers, Roksanda Ilincic. I teamed it with a three-quarter sleeves white coat from Cédric Charlier which reveals the yellow detail of the dress and therefore match the color-block bag from Etro. To finish the look, there’s nothing better than a pair of timeless navy blue pumps from Manolo Blahnik.
Since it is the weekend and that generally we all want to feel comfy in our clothes, the fifth outfit would be the best choice. Wear a black and white oversized cardigan over a white and pastel outfit to make a statement.

Enjoy your weekend guys!

MY CASUAL CHIC

MY CASUAL CHICToday was such a beautiful and warm day that I traded my coats for this super light Primark parka and I couldn’t be happier about it! Spring is coming and I am gonna welcome it with open arms and a happy face.
To complete my beige jacket, I went for this super chic roll neck jumper from Zara that works with everything from my wardrobe, from super chic skirt to destroyed jeans. It is really a nice piece of clothing.
The bottom part of today’s outfit consists of the most comfortable pair of jeans ever that I got at Stradivarius last year. I am still looking for the perfect boyfriend jeans, so I guess I’ll visit their store to see what they are having lately since those at Zara and H&M doesn’t fit as I want them to.
Anyways, you may have recognized the sneakers already as I have been wearing them in previous outfits. They are from Stradivarius as well, if you’re wondering. However, they are from last year but I’m pretty sure their new collection is sick too! I gotta go check out what’s new!
And last but not least, my perfect tweed bag from Zara is such a treasure. It is the best purchase I’ve done this year.

Take care guys,

Xo, G.

DRESSY CASUAL

DRESSY CASUAL

Yesterday was a dressy casual day for me as I wanted to wear heels for a change. I bought these camel booties two years ago and am still surprised how they don’t make walking painful! After my Nike Dunk Sky Hi wedge sneakers and Geox boots, these are the third least painful heels I possess. But as I hate driving in heels, I most of the time wear flat shoes. So when you see me wearing heels, you know the husband is playing the chauffeur. ^^
Anyways, I wanted the outfit to be a bit edgy so I wore these super comfy faux-leather pants from Zara. Even though they tend to ride up a lot, the feeling isn’t annoying, it’s just a bit weird visually. The positive thing is that they adjust to the position I am in, so when I am sitting they automatically ride up so I don’t have to pull them up myself. Thanks God I am not that obsessed with these kind of details, ’cause I know people who would never step out if everything isn’t perfect. After all, they are not 1,500€ euro leather pants from Balmain, so …
And if you ask me, what is the coolest piece of clothing I would always answer, denim shirt!
I love to pair denim shirts with everything! I have always had this crazy obsession with denim jackets so there’s no surprise I am hooked on denim shirts too. The one I am wearing is from Primark and I love that it’s made of high-quality fabric. Primark really has some amazing designs, I’ll pay it a visit next time I am in Paris, which is going to be pretty soon!
And that coat from Morgan de Toi is the best thing I inherited from my sister. It is almost a vintage piece! Women in my family including my mother and sister are all fond of their clothes and keep them intact for yeaaars and when we reach the point when we are simply bored by our old but looking new stuff, we swap them among ourselves. My sister’s the luckiest as she got some custom made blazers from the 70s belonging to my mom with checked patterns, black and white tweed, velvet … They are too large for me but maybe in 5-10 years they’ll be mine! Who knows… ^^
And to finish off my look of the day, what a better accessory than a houndstooth scarf. As I mentioned it in yesterday’s post outfit, teaming black and white with pastels or brights is my thing. I love this scarf but I am looking for a larger one for next winter. If you know where I can find one, leave me a comment.

Take care guys and have a nice one!

FIFTY SHADES OF PINK

FIFTY SHADES OF PINK PINK is the color of the year. Ok, I have been saying this for white, camel, burgundy, grey… but it’s an accurate statement about all these colors including pink and I am going to prove it to you with these 5 outfits I have especially created for today’s post.
As you already know, I am starting with my favorite one and today it’s this super cool dressy casual look that you have been seeing either on fashion blogs or on models off-duty during fashion weeks. If many of them are mostly wearing black and grey (known as THE COOLEST COLORS ever particularly if you want to look bad-ass) I wanted to use pink to change a bit from what we are used to see on social media and show you that the model off-duty look works with pinkish shades too.
The big chunky coat along with distressed boyfriend jeans and sneakers (slipons and Stan Smiths are what works best for this type of look) are must-haves in order to pull off this look. Here I used this cool pair of Michael, Michael Kors white sneakers with gold details that are very similar to the timeless Adidas Stan Smiths. The hat is a good accessory but if you are not a hat person just don’t wear it.
The second look is inspired by fashion blogger Kristina Bazan from Kayture who once wore a similar outfit but not in the same colors. If you ask me, this look is the definition of ultimate chicness. Roll necks, Valentino Rockstud slingbacks and a Hermès Kelly bag instantly make every outfit awesome.
The third look is also a dressy casual outfit but this time I used heels instead of sneakers or flats. I love how the monochrome combo works with pink so give it a try the next time you’re willing to try something different.
And last but not least, there are two super elegant looks including this bustier jumpsuit from H&M which is an amazing piece of clothing that you can both wear for daytime and evening depending on what shoes and accessories you have picked.
And then, there’s this super simple yet gorgeous gown by Emilia Wickstead which I first saw on stunning Allison Williams who wore it at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party last year.

Wish you a beautiful day guys,
